In the words of Rick Warren:

"It is not about you!"

When you get married, everyone says, "Do what you want. It is your day. Its about you." ...Well the truth is: that is so not sure. People get their feelings hurt. Friends and family have their own ideas of what your wedding should be like and unless you are just rude.....your "idea" is just NOT going to happen. You see as much as I would like to believe it is about me and what I want (Hello I am finally the bride) it is not. Anyone with a heart must consider other people and how they perceive your actions and choices. And like I said ...everyone has a opinion on how your wedding should go. What is funny to me ...is I wonder "why do they care so much?" They have had their weddings or will have their own one day....sigh....am I frustrated. A little. Like many things in life.....this is just not what I imagine. Dang overactive imgination. No matter how simple we want this to be....we just want to get married and share it with people we love. It just isn't that simple. =)

So what am I learning from all this......at the end of the day, I will still be Mrs. Crank. And that is the most important thing to me. All the details inbetween are enough to drive you just a little crazy...or even to tears at times....or to the JP. And it makes me think of the day that our bridegroom, Jesus will come. sigh. I have imagined it and I wonder...how "off" is my imagination.
And the joy of that day is, it truly is all about Christ and his bride the church. Nothing else.

Even so, come lord jesus.

Hi Melodee Bob,
I say "it's not the wedding, it's the marriage" that counts. The wedding is just the details -- and you shouldn't sweat those. What really, really matters is the marriage. The wedding memories fade. The marriage won't. =)
Love, Lori Bob
